Oluce announces its participation in the special “Italian Design: from Classic to Contemporary” event that is part of the “From Italy with Love” project running from 5 to 29 September at Bloomingdale’s Department Store in New York. Curated by the architect Ferruccio Laviani in collaboration with the Salone del Mobile.Milano, this initiative will be an extraordinary celebration of Italian design, showcasing the excellence and creative flair that characterise “Made in Italy”.
The star of the Oluce show will be the Atollo lamp, the undisputed icon of international design that symbolises the perfect synthesis of form and function. Designed in 1977 by Vico Magistretti, for forty years Atollo has embodied the Italian culture of design, as well as being one of the world’s most recognisable multi-award winning products. In a setting inspired by Giorgio de Chirico’s metaphysical piazzas, the Atollo lamp will be displayed as one of the symbolic objects of Italian design, in an installation that combines art, function, industrial design and craftsmanship.
Held on the sixth floor of Bloomingdale’s, the event promises to engage visitors in an immersive experience, taking them on a journey of discovery into the great tradition that is Italian design. Thanks to the creative vision of Ferruccio Laviani, the display area will become a window on history, innovation and the sophistication that make Italian brands, including Oluce, stand out.
