Lens - 151
Francesco Rota, 2013The new project by Francesco Rota takes its inspiration from contemporary sculpture, playing with the curvature of surfaces in an interesting cross-referencing of light and mirrors. “Lens” is in fact a direct light wall lamp with a concave screen that creates a barrier between the light source and the surrounding space. Available in chrome or copper finishes, “Lens” is characterised by an essential line that is enriched by the glare reflected from its glossy surface and reminiscent, in both structure and name, of classical optics studies. A decorative inspiration that hides an innovative technological heart – the new LED source that guarantees energy savings of over 80% compared to the traditional version – which is also found in Kin, the project that premiered at the last Salone del Mobile. In this case, however, technology meets rigorous industrial aesthetics in order to create a suspended lamp, made from cast aluminium, with the classic “Cina” form, now also available in a version with two or three lighting fixtures in a new colour range.
