Beth - 349
Carlo Colombo, 2011In the perpetual comebacks that crop up regularly in the history of form and design, the fabulous 70s have always been a major player. Carlo Colombo was inspired by the 70s for his “Beth” design: a shiny metal cylinder cut at a special angle, hinting at the “futuristic” furniture design when science fiction first came around, complete with an internal light source, screened with a special lens. Its utterly new proportions deserve careful analysis, suggesting an intended use somewhere between a floor lamp and a table lamp, opening the way for new potential.
