Canopy
Design Francesco Rota, 2009
Canopy owes both its shape and its name to the ceiling rose, one of the simplest and often neglected elements of lighting technology, used to conceal the wires coming out of the ceiling. Francesco Rota takes up this shape again but this time he enlarges, ennobles and makes it the focal point of the project, a large-sized metal lampshade, proposed in sought-after colour combinations. Inside the dome, a particular source of light has been inserted, the circline bulb, capable of diffusing a soft, sinuous light into the surrounding environment.
