Oluce is to participate in the “Leave DeSign” charity auction by RFK Human Rights Italia. Conducted by Christie’s and made possible through the support of the event’s media partner, Interni magazine, the event returns to Milan at Palazzo Clerici and will be entirely focused on design.
Over 30 leaders of Made in Italy Design have donated historic pieces, prototypes and one-offs with the aim of raising money and support for the association’s programmes in the field of human and civil rights. These include Education on Human Rights in Italian schools which, thanks to the introduction of compulsory Civic Education across the school system, has allowed its widespread presence throughout Italy. The works will be on display for a preview of the lots from September 28 to 30, 10am to 7pm, at Christie’s in Via Clerici 5 in Milan, and will then go under the hammer on November 19 during the RFK Human Rights Italia Gala & Award 2021, in the presence of Kerry Kennedy, Robert Kennedy’s seventh child and president of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights association.
For the occasion, Oluce has chosen to donate the latest Mini Coupè, designed by Joe Colombo and presented during Milan Design Week 2021. Mini Coupè is the smaller version of one of the company’s most iconic pieces, the Coupè table lamp, presented in an exciting new contemporary colour range. With its 34 cm of height and its various colours, the Mini Coupé wittily and harmoniously captures all the vigour common to Joe Colombo‘s designs of the Sixties: an aesthetic statement, experimentation with new materials, use of colour, movement, and the desire to break new ground.
